District Sales Manager role for selling the expanding portfolio of highly differentiated upstream and downstream processing solutions that address critical steps in the development and production of biologic drugs – principally in the rProtein, mRNA and Cell & Gene Therapy segments - to new and existing customers across a territory spanning France, Benelux, Spain & Italy.
· Drive sales opportunities direct at the customer and through the account manager and sales specialist team to meet or exceed sales and profitability targets
· Develop and execute a District Sales Plan in close collaboration with the Regional Sales Director and VP Sales Development
· Establish associated performance metrics, targets and quarterly business reviews with the sales team
· Drive Opportunity Pipeline development using a market leading CRM
· Lead sales negotiations with technical and procurement departments
· Establish and maintain strategic and key account relationships
· Develop new target accounts across the territory in conjunction with the wider commercial team (BSS and FAS)
· Develop and support customers as they move through the clinical pipeline from lab-scale to full process scale solutions
· Interface with Business and Market Development to ensure that appropriate product, market and competitive information is shared in an accurate and timely manner
· Support the development of sales collateral
· Provide Manufacturing and QA/QC operations with timely information to support forecasting, customer complaint handling and facility audits
· Execute all aspects of field sales activity to include customer visits, technical presentations, quote preparation and negotiation
· A minimum of a BEng or a BSc degree in a Life Science or equivalent · A minimum of 10 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry · Recognised deep knowledge and understanding of specialised selling in the region · A strong understanding of Upstream Processing and Continuous Processing and impact and interaction on DSP is high · Proven ability to manage, motivate and develop sales teams · Proven successful sales track record and key account management experience · Proven ability to build mutually beneficial, personable, trusting relationships with customers, suppliers and partners · Highly developed sales and territory management skill sets · Strong analytical and forecasting skills · Willing to travel extensively with the team throughout the territory · Demonstrates a high level of motivation to succeed |
