We are on the lookout for a Environmental, health and Safety specialist. You will be a key resource for employees, ensuring compliance with all applicable Dutch regulations and promoting a strong safety culture. We are a life sciences company focused on the development, production and commercialization of high-value consumable products used in the process of manufacturing biological drugs.

This role will report into the Site Director and work from the Breda site.

The EHS Specialist will be responsible for the following:

• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs for the Netherlands site, including but not limited to: hazard communication, emergency response, biosafety, chemical safety, industrial hygiene and sustainability.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop appropriate control measures specific to the Netherlands operations.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant Dutch and EU EHS regulations and stay up-to-date with new regulations.
• Conduct/organize EHS training for employees in the Netherlands on various topics, including safe operating procedures, emergency response, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Investigate incidents and near misses at the Netherlands site, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain EHS records and documentation for the Netherlands site, including permits, training records, and incident reports.
• Champion a positive and proactive safety culture within the site (change management).
• Liaise with global EHS teams (global EHS network) to ensure alignment with overall company EHS strategy and share best practices.

The successful candidate will have the following background:

• BSc in Environmental and occupational safety science or relevant degrees.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role preferably in a chemical or life science industry.
• Experience with implementing and developing EHS standards.
• Excellent communications skills and fluent in Dutch and English.
