Overview

The Automation Engineer - Applications is actively working with and participating in projects in the integration of controls, instrumentation and automation in pharmaceuticals’ manufacturing processes, process systems and equipment, from the engineering, physical installations and in the process systems’ end user applications point of view. You are a valuable member of our global organization and part of our Process Engineering (Controls, Automation & Instrumentation) team.

Responsibilities

As an Automation Engineer - Applications, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the testing of industrial process control systems, instrumentation devices, and process equipment during the development of biopharmaceutical process systems.

  • Contributing to the development of testing protocols, supporting the testing process, and meticulously documenting test results.

  • Working with the team to modernize existing products by exploring smaller, leaner, and smarter solutions.

  • Participating in the analysis and integration of new instruments and components into our process systems.

  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, building positive relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Providing support for process control applications, both on-site and remotely, for process systems handed over to end users.

  • Eagerly taking on new challenges and contributing to the team's success.

Qualifications

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic graduate with a strong foundation in automation engineering. Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A solid understanding of PLC programming languages (as described in Part 3 of IEC 61131) and SCADA systems for data acquisition, gained through coursework or projects.

  • Familiarity with field bus communication systems and communication protocols used in supervising data acquisition and control systems.

  • A good grasp of electrical engineering principles, instrumentation, and electrical and automation design and testing best practices in Europe and the USA.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • A proactive and problem-solving mindset, with a strong desire to learn and grow.
